C.R. Riley Take a break. Sometime I read other people's work, for fun or to help them critique what they've done so far. I know that it will eventually all come back flowing to me, often all at once and so fast I have trouble keeping up. I've learned to not push because when I do I end up erasing all I've just spend hours writing. If I am not feeling it I stop and take a break, no matter how long that break may be. Hours. Weeks. Months. I always know when its time to dive back in.
C.R. Riley I get to pretend to be someone really cool and outspoken. Dive into other people's heads and know what they are thinking and feeling. I love people watching and writing allows me to imagine everyones thoughts in the most interesting ways.
C.R. Riley Write. Write what you know first. Then write what you feel is calling for you to write. Listen to the voices in your head and get them on paper. You will never do it unless you start with something and run. Then take a leap of faith and post it on a site that will allow others to tell you what they think. But most of all write, write, and write.
C.R. Riley A few books actually. The third book of The Royals Series. A couple of books for the Love of the Game Series. Writing them side by side because parts of them entwine and both main characters were screaming at me. The fifth book to my Crystal Lake series. I know that sounds like a lot, but when I need a break from one to plot, I tend to dive into another and run with it. It's how I've written for a while now.
C.R. Riley I got my idea from reading so many princess fairy tales to my daughter. She was growing out of that stage and who doesn't love a good book about Royalty.
