This is an historical piece set in the first century AD. It's set in the lead up to the Roman/Jewish war, and is based around a historical figure, the wife of the resistance leader, Simon bar Giora. In the histories of the period, she is mentioned several times, but never by name. My novel is an attempt to give her a name and bring her into the light.

I am fascinated by transitions, things, people on the cusp of change. In this case between life and death. I also like to explore what people will do when faced with a moral challenge outside their ordinary remit. However, if I'm honest my best stories rise up, unbidden, from some misty recess of my brain, where I am forbidden entry.
