I'm a teacher. I teach little monsters every day (only joking, of course!) I wondered what a school for literal monsters would be like for a perfectly ordinary girl. The Monstacademy series is the result.

I currently have the second in the Monstacademy series finished and ready for editing. That has a working title of The Egyptian Stone. Guess what it's about?!
I am also about two thirds of the way through the first draft of the second Shadowland Chronicle, the follow-on to The Spyglass and the Cherry Tree. That's tentatively titled The Emperor in the East.
I also have a stand alone, Victorian era chapter book on the go. I'm roughly half way through that but I haven't touched it for a while. I might move back to that in the new year for a break from the others.
You can find my current works in progress at any given time on my website. It's always worth checking out just to see what, if any, progress I've made!

Write. Get your ideas down. They will be rubbish, probably terrible, first time around but, once they are down, you can then work on shaping them.

I try to step away from the keyboard and do something that turns my brain off. I often find I have ideas when I'm waiting in a queue, for instance.
