Emily Arenz I don't force myself to write, forcing yourself to write when you're blocked only makes things worse. I put off the writing for a while and try to engage in reading some Greek myths or going out with friends. After being depleted or inspired I'll be motivated to continue the story.
Emily Arenz It looks great on your curriculum. After all, I'm still a student, so even though writing plays a big part in my life, it's not the main focus. The reason I ever even started writing is that it cleared my head. Like most people in the book community, I'm an introvert and suffer from a minor case of social anxiety which can kick in at any moment. After a long day of having to engage in conversation and pretending to be sociable, I like to unwind by putting it all down on paper. Writing calms me and gives me energy.
Emily Arenz Just write. Nowadays there are so many ways of getting your story out there, truly all you need to do is just write it. The more you write the greater the chance you'll be noticed for your work.
Emily Arenz The sequel to Flames.
Emily Arenz Sometimes the story itself is enough to motivate me to write, but I'd be lying if I said I write every day. It's good to take a break from writing sometimes to load up on inspiration and possibilities for your story, it makes things interesting again and readers notice that. I'd say I get inspired by doing research into even more Greek Myths or just reading one of the heroes' tales.
Emily Arenz I've always been obsessed with Greek mythology. Alas, I saw a shortage on the book market of books using mythology in modern literature as a part of heroic tales. Therefore I started writing a short story, but the story got longer and eventually turned into a book.
