Angela Sanders Honestly? My behind-the-scenes life in the military. It's not an uncommon story for women who joined in the early '90s, but it's mine. I *have* written one book with bits of my truth dropped in the plot (more so than any of my others). Several of the side characters are/were real-life people (with different names), and even the pictures described in the book are real. Made-up places are fictional for the book, but they do exist in other states. Each one holds a significant memory. Bits and pieces of the nightmares are mine. Gruesome, yes... But I'm a survivor.
Make no mistake, though, the book is fiction. It's "Charlotte's" story, not mine. I only shared "part" of me.
Writing that book made me stronger. I cried doing so, but it helped free my soul.
It's called Never Again.
Angela Sanders Never give up. If you think it sucks; it's most likely the best thing you've ever written.
Do not fear the unknown. If you never take a chance, then you'll never know what might have been.
Believe in yourself.
Have faith.
Gather a team of people you can trust with your work who will be honest and help you.
Again, have faith in yourself.
You can do this.
Believe in yourself. (Yes, I said that twice. It's important.)
Have fun!
Angela Sanders All of my books have bits and pieces of me in them. It's therapeutic. I pour my heart and soul into these books and I love it. My characters come to life; they're not simply words on a page. They're real; a creation or an extension of me.
Another bonus? My sweet little boy is now writing his own books because he says he wants to be like his mommy when he grows up.
Angela Sanders Not well. I stare at my laptop and reread what I've written over and over until my characters talk to me. Yes, they actually have their own voice and fight over who gets to be in the next scene or story... They book hop too, just in case you haven't noticed. :) I can't take them anywhere.
Honestly, if I'm really blocked, I walk away. I can't force myself to write something that isn't there or it'll suck. I try to work on something else. I'm typically writing at least three or four books at a time or editing someone else's book, so I can keep busy until my muse or characters decide to start talking again.
Angela Sanders 1.Magic Revealed (Delphine Rising Book 3)
2.A psychological thriller for a boxed set coming out in November. I have a title, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it yet.
3.Moon Magic (The New Orleans Coven) - this book is complete for the most part, it just needs to be lengthened a bit. It will be released after the finale of Delphine Rising as a follow up series.
4. I'm always working on a new Hybrid Coven Series book. What was intended to be a spin-off of my Delphine Rising series has become my bestseller. I love this series - and the crossover characters - but most of all, it brings the entire world together. There's so much to add and so many stories to be told. At the moment, the third book, Touched by a Vampire (The Hybrid Coven Book 3) *standalone* is in the Shadows and Stars: A Limited Edition Collection of Sci-Fi Romance and Paranormal Romance Novels. It's one of my favorites. It released shortly after book two, Mated by Magic.
Angela Sanders Honestly, my first character inspirations came from my family and friends. Then new characters sprouted from there. I've been obsessed with witches and vampires for years. Okay, forever! I've always had an active imagination and just about anything can spark a new story-line. I guarantee 99% of my books will have either witches, vampires or both. I literally live inside of my head when I'm not being Mommy. :)
I love all things paranormal!
Angela Sanders Marked By A Vampire (The Hybrid Coven) is actually a spin-off of my Delphine Rising Series. The hybrids were well-liked in the books and many readers wanted to know more about them. All of a sudden, a few characters decided they wanted a story of their own. Yes, they speak to me. :) So, a couple crossed over, and new characters came to life. In this book, not only do you learn more about the Hybrid Coven, but how the original vampire came to be. It was so much fun to write!
