Kerry Postle Oh dear. Writer's block! I try not to get too upset about it and read a novel for inspiration. It was only when I'd started writing that I suddenly understood how writers achieved such glittering prose effects and the more I read the more I am inspired to get back to writing.
Kerry Postle Write. Just put pen to paper, finger to keyboard, and let those words come out. Sometimes writing exercises can be useful and the ones I particularly like are those found in Ursula LeGuin's 'Steering the Craft'. They make writing fun which is what it should be.
Kerry Postle I'm currently working on a novel set during the Spanish Civil War in Andalucia.
Kerry Postle I got the idea for my most recent book, 'The Artist's Muse', from an Egon Schiele exhibition at the Leopold Museum in Vienna. Paintings of Schiele's model, Wally Neuzil, were everywhere, yet so little was revealed about her. I wanted to know more but when I started researching, it seemed that for a woman so influential and visible in art she was sadly invisible in life. In my novel I give her a voice and a presence, as well as some dignity.
