I began writing my DUAL LIVES memoir in the summer of 2015, shortly after our son's Autism diagnosis, after returning from Children's Hospital in Philadelphia where I spent ten agonizing days with my 11 year old niece who sadly lost her battle with a rare childhood cancer, and after coming off a year in a public education system that is in a drastic state of decline. I felt compelled to share successes while fighting against these tides and how I've overcome great odds to become a 3x national teacher of the year while also leading a "double life" as "Mob artist" to America's most infamous.

For me it was born from frustration with situations in my life and how I was feeling about the world around me. I felt the need to get it out there and share it with the world, as a form of expression and inspiration for the rest of the world.

Currently lots of paintings for an upcoming October 6 exhibition at Converge Gallery in Williamsport, PA where I'm also doing a book signing and artist talk.

I'm still new to being a "writer" but it does feel like I've accomplished something monumental in my life. I'll revisit this question once I'm further along in the game doing book signings and such.

For me it's like artists block while working on a painting. Sometimes music helps trigger some thoughts and emotions. It also helps me when I'm working under pressure of a deadline, even if it's self imposed.

I'm going to try and hit at least one beautiful hardcover editions of PeterLance's “First Degree,” “Stranger 456” and “Murder, Inc.” I first met Peter while working on the painting for John Gotti's "Shadow of my Father" book cover painting. Lance did Gotti's Foreword and is an amazing writer.
