The idea for Trial by Song started as a spinoff to a story I wrote in high school. Jack's role was much different then, but the character stuck with mend I realized that I wanted to follow his story to see where it would take me.

I free write until the words start flowing on their own again. I rarely start a story without knowing where it's headed, so while I might not get as many words out in a sitting as I'd like, I can usually let the characters spin their wheels until I'm in the mood to get back into the story.
