Amy Meyerson Hi Brian! Sorry I'm only responding now. I've only recently discovered your question. It's no longer so early in the process, and I'm delighted to share about my new novel. I'll be making some blog posts in the next few months. In the meantime, you can look the book and description up on goodreads--it's called THE LOVE SCRIBE.

Loved your book - especially since my maiden name was Silver and I lived on Larchmont (and later in Silver Lake). What a fun trip around my home town. Can I assume you're also a native Angelano?

Amy Meyerson Hi Jonathan- Thanks for reaching out! That's always such a tough question to answer. My gut reaction is to say no, she isn't me, but then again, how could she not be? Her interests and hangups are different than mine–as well as her family history!–but I think I've experienced some of her emotional reactions to those around her, both good and bad.

I loved this book so much! I can't wait to read it again! I would love a list of all of the book referenced in it. (Or I'll just make the list myself!) :) Was there a real bookshop this book was based off of? What's your favorite bookshop?

Amy Meyerson Hi Kim! Thanks for reaching out! I'm thrilled to hear how much you liked the book. Funnily enough, I don't think I ever put together a list of all the literary references. There are a lot of them:) I should make a shelf on goodreads of all the novels mentioned in The Bookshop of Yesterdays.

Prospero Books is a composite of several bookstores that I love–two of particular importance are on the east side of LA. Prospero Books visually resembles Stories Books and Cafe in Echo Park. I also spend a lot of time at Skylight Books and got to ask the manager there lots of random questions about running a bookshop, which was super helpful. What's your favorite bookshop?
