I got the idea for The Scarlet Cord when I was studying a book on Women of the Bible several years ago. Something about Rahab's story just pierced through me and grew in my heart. I knew the outcome and some of the things that make her so remarkable, but I started imagining what her life must have been like before we see her appearance in the Bible. It consumed me, I had to get it down on paper. Unfortunately, I did not dedicate time to writing as much as I would have liked, so it took me about six years to complete this novel. However, I am actually glad for it now, because after all that time, I have a different perspective now than I might have if I had finished it sooner. It has truly been a labor of love, and I hope it sparks something in you as well.
