I used to promote some of the biggest sports stars in the world and took my inspiration from the 20 years I spent around these sports men and women at the very top of their games. All my ideas for The Sweet Spot's hero, Sebastian Bloom, came from my years of being behind the scenes with these incredible individuals, and I am thankful to them for providing me with more content than I could ever use.

I'm currently writing the follow up to The Sweet Spot - The Country Club. It's the second book in the Appleton Vale series and revisits a lot of the same characters from book one, and also offers up a fabulous new hero for my readers to swoon over!

Keep writing, no matter what. Do more than two drafts because every story can always have a little more gloss. Learn from the rejections and criticism. My writing got better after some feedback from a publisher a few years ago. What he said really stuck in my mind and following his advice really paid off for me!

Being able to tell the world about what's going on in my head. You have no idea how long all of my characters have been with me!

A good dog walk or a gallop on my horse across my local National Trust land usually breaks the deadlock of writer's block. Once I've shaken it off I use the quiet time to formulate conversations and plot lines that usually end up in the next book!
