Jess Pagor My advice for aspiring writers...would be to never give up. No matter how hard tones get or how tough the haters are on you never give up! You have a gift for story telling and your imagination is just that. An imagination. There is no right or wrong. No matter what anyone says. Your going to have haters just like everyone else but don’t let them get under your skin. Keep doing you and write for you. Nobody else. Your audience will find you. That is my best advice I give to anyone.
Jess Pagor I think I’m like every other author out there with a wide range of imagination. The sky is the limit. When I’m feeling down and not motivated, I usually find my inspiration at work when I’m driving around thinking or by sitting down by the lake where it’s calm and peaceful. Quiet. Seems to give me some inspiration. The thing that gives me the most inspiration is music. I write all my books listening to music: usually rock/emo music. Sometimes classical music. Music is my number one inspiration.
Jess Pagor My favorite thing about being a writer is that you play God. It is your story and your ideas so no one can take that from you. You call the shots. There is no right or wrong answer or right or wrong way of creating your world no matter what the haters say. It's just that, YOUR world that you are creating.
Jess Pagor Hmmm...writer's block....well, I deal with writer's block in a few different ways. I'm also a Lyft driver so being on the road some days helps sort out ideas and I find new inspiration. Other times, I open my blog website and write a new blog just about anything even if it doesn't make sense. Writing in my blog helps cleanse the brain I feel. I have a few short stories on my blog site which are all created from having writer's blocks.
Jess Pagor I am currently working two different projects. The first project is the sequel to my "Saving Her" series. "Saving Her" book one is already published. Book one is about the past. Book two is going to take place in the present: "Saving Her: Minnie's Love". The second project is kind of a different book. It's called "It's Not Fair". It's going to be a book about a teenage girl who goes through the every day life struggles a teen goes through, but finds out she has cancer. Instead of throwing sick twists into this book, it's going to be more about the emotional side of things.
Jess Pagor Well, it was something that was rolling around in my head for a while, but at that time I didn't know where I wanted to go with it. Originally, the book was supposed to be about a troubled girl who couldn't shake the addiction life. Then, I went through a really bad break up with my ex fiance and later on found out all kinds of secrets about him that left me feeling like I didn't know what was true and what was false. That was when I decided that was what my book was going to be about: the secrets of a double life and emotional games such as manipulation. I literally put all my feelings I felt at the time into this book. A nice twist was the girl playing the games not the guy.
