The best advice I can give is to just keep writing. Keep a journal to jot down your thoughts. Carry a notepad with you in case inspiration hits. I would suggest never throwing away stories from your childhood, you never know what nuggets of gold maybe be found in them. The more you write, the more you'll improve.

I find it easiest to write in a quiet room while listening to music on my MP3 player. Writing at night really works for me. But I definitely need to be alone to write. Too many distractions and I can't focus.

My most recent published story, The Beast, actually came from a dream. Rather than waking up a little scared, my first initial thought was 'What a story that would make!' So that very day I started writing it and within a few months it was complete. The Beast is the only 'scary' story I have written and it is not my usual genre. I doubt very much I will be doing a similar story like it.

I don't believe a writer ever stops writing. I have a number of story ideas and drafts either in my head, in a notebook or on my flash drive. I will say I am working on one that I am hoping to have on Amazon in the Fall of 2017. I will announce when that book is available.

There are so many great things about writing but my favorite would be the reader's reactions. It is amazing what words can do to one's emotions. From gasping at a sudden twist to enthusiastically cheering on a favorite character. I definitely love to hear what readers think of my stories.

Every writer encounters writer's block at some point in their story and everyone has their own way of overcoming it. I personally find it best to just keep writing. You would be surprised at what comes out. I tend to have a couple of stories going on at the same time, so I can bounce back and forth if I do get stuck on one. Don't get discouraged and whatever you do, don't get rid of your story.
