You can create your own worlds, create characters to live in them, make the rules in your worlds and decide what happens to every character in your worlds. This is a tremendous amount of power in a world where each of us has so little power. This is one thing I really like about writing.

I am inspired by life so literally everything inspires me. Sometimes I write something just to challenge myself. That's how I came up with my novella Karma. I thought I would write about the most boring premise for a book I could think of and make it compelling. I decided to write about a garbage man who contracts AIDS. I added nuances that make the story compelling. While doing this, I turned it from a very short story into a longer story.
