K.T. Conte She turned to the last page of the book to find out the fate of her favorite character. It was blank.
K.T. Conte Getting lost in life, which sounds really cliche but it's the truth. I tend to daydream wherever I go and most of the time, it's my life experience that will trigger a daydream and let my mind wander.

Awoke came to me one night with a group of friends, just hanging out. And it hit me like a bolt. I was struck by the idea that I told everyone I had to go and find paper to write. And I did - they were completely shocked and I kept muttering to myself on the home so I wouldn't lose it. I say all this because life does have a way of giving you bolts every now and then. Just be receptive.
K.T. Conte Awoke has been the big first baby book born so I'm reveling in its upcoming release in October. The next book tentatively titled Rise will be coming soon but not set date yet.
K.T. Conte Even if it takes you years, don't let it go. At time you will love it and others you will hate it. It really is like a relationship. And sometimes you need time apart to reevaluate but if its something that it's ingrained in you, you will come back. So stick with it, learn as you go, and embrace the experience.
K.T. Conte Reading a book that you wrote that appeals to you as a reader. After going through all of the editing and love-hate relationship fights with the novel, you'll have a finished product in front of you. And with Awoke, I was reading through for millionth time for the sake of editing/nit-picking and I was sucked into the story. I forgot for a few moments that I wrote it. I couldn't stop smiling at the time because for the first time I really felt like a writer.
K.T. Conte Most of time, my mind is telling me I need a break. So I start exploring and reading other books in my genre. When I get really sucked into a good story, I'll start to venture and think about how could I apply this feeling to my story and my characters. 80% of the time it works every time :)
K.T. Conte I am all over the map when it comes to ideas and characters based in the afterlife but the strongest influences come from Christianity and Japanese folklore and anime, in particular the idea of Grim Reaper or shinigami.
