My last book, Dark Beginnings, was actually a prequel to my Haunted America series. I went to college at The University of Alabama and there is an abandoned hospital on campus, so the premise for Dark Beginnings kind of came from that because I would walk by it every day on my way to class.

I find inspiration in little things. If I read a quote or even if I'm driving down the road, anything can spark my imagination and make me want to break out my laptop or a notebook to write.

Creating characters and their backstories. It's just so much fun!

I always carry an extra notebook with me, and if I ever feel stuck on a certain scene or I'm unsure how the story is going to play out, I write it out on paper and it helps clear my head and allows the creativity to flow.
