Eleyne-Mari Sharp The whole concept—building a town that was founded on Puritan principles and all its memorable places and characters—came from my dreams, my imagination, and from playing the "What if?" game.

By the time I began writing Moonwater Beach (Book Three in the Little Blessing series), I had outlined the entire town from a seagull’s perspective, creating categories like Arts, Beaches, Celebrations, Culture, Education, Farms, Food, Landmarks, Restaurants, Retail, and so forth.

I had a blast being "the architect of Little Blessing" and it has been a joy to live there.
Eleyne-Mari Sharp Professionally, since 1980, although I dabbled with writing when my mom gave me a Precious Moments diary for my 10th birthday.

In my early teens, I was living in Germany, where I penned a cutesy column for our local American Youth Association newsletter called "Dinky's Doodles". I chose the moniker "Dinky" to reflect my short stature and felt very, very cool—except no one ever called me that. I guess you could call it my first attempt at a pen name.

By the way—the next year I was five feet eight inches tall, so my "Dinky" days were short-lived.
Eleyne-Mari Sharp Writer's block is not something I generally experience. But if I need to write a blog post, for example, and if I have no idea what the topic is going to be, I'll just get up and do something.

I'll cook, write, sing, and sometimes clean (if my husband's lucky.) Honestly, some of my best ideas have happened while taking a shower! Unfortunately, that's the only place I can't keep a notebook, so I'll rush out of there to jot down my idea. I hate losing ideas.
