My work often reveals things about myself that I never actually intended to share with anyone. It's amazing to see how creativity works. It feels like I'm weaving pieces together that I receive from the black abyss in the back of my mind. It's as if the 'abyss' is actually some kind of creativity factory that I'll never have access to, but as long as I put pen to paper I'll be on the receiving end of what the leader of this creativity factory wants to share with me. The best thing about being a writer is that I get to experience a magical story that wants to exist, and I am the only one who can help bring it to life. In my case its with illustrations and words and it's a blessing and a curse.

When I experience writers block I find the best solution is to distance myself from the story entirely. It may be inconvenient when dealing with a deadline, but honestly the more time I seperate myself from the story, the fresher my perspective when I return to it. That fresh perspective always allows me to see the story more as a reader and less as the author, and I find my creativity knows how to continue where I left off.
