I stumbled across the Granite Lake novellas by Vivian Arend, they've been a lot of fun to read. Sadly, my serious books (Unbranding by Scott Stratten) has taken a back burner to Alaskan werewolves.

Keep writing. I look back at my first books and I'm horrified. The more I write, the better I got. Don't let anyone destroy your passion. Keeping doing it, look for people who will give you constructive criticism (family usually isn't it), and give yourself the time to get better at your craft.

Right now, I'm working on the first draft of the 4th book in my Retribution Series. It's a bit of a step away from the ongoing story line; something of an origins novel in which one of the vampires leads a human down the path to discover the history of the creation of the vampires. I love archaeology, so it's very Indian Jones - a nod to my love of history and ancient places.

I keep regular "business hours." As long as I'm consistent in sitting down to write on a regular schedule, I don't find I have issues with writer's block. I've trained my brain that "this is the time we're going to write." If I'm not feeling focused or just not inspired, I'll work on the business end of writing that day. Consistent schedule is the key for me avoiding writer's block.

Right now, I'm working on the release of The Fallen. It's a different world, a society of angels whose ancestors made the choice to fall to earth. The first installment is about Anna, a young mother, who runs from her angelic community to try and protect her daughter from a murderer. The novel is part fantasy and part mystery.
