(view spoiler)[The Nightstalker Saga universe itself stems from several places. The Lord Xeno is picked up from the name I used during a project in elementary school. The Nightstalker is a manifestation both of who I wish I could be and who I am. I have a whole expanded universe I've been building in my head since early childhood. It's included superhero, wizards, and a bunch of other characters that I've picked up from various TV shows, books, and movies. At one point, the magic stars from Dora the Explorer were a part of it. Over time, I narrowed the world down the the universe of The Nightstalker Saga. Originally, El was the Nightstalker and the powers of Si were transferable on a whim. The Ancestor and Lord Xeno were different people.
Ancients more specifically has some curious roots. I don't know what spurred the idea of The Ancients originally, but somewhere along the line, I figured they'd be a good plot device to set the stage for the rest of the series.
The idea for Ancients comes from god knows where. The katana was introduced to me by Kill Bill. I played a lot of Dark Souls, which kind of helped me envision fight scenes better. But, yeah, I don't know. There's so much that goes into the universe and so much that I can't help but think is more or less original, that it's hard for me to pin down an specific inspiration. I take a break. If I'm not in a place where I can write something up to snuff because I'm not in the mood, it's not worth stressing out about
