I like quirky characters and try to have one in most of my stories. So thinking about a companion who was desperate for employment and would have to take whatever position came along, I thought about what would be the worst things she could possibly face. And bingo, kleptomania came to mind. What obstacles would the companion have to face to stop her charge, and then what might happen when she tried to return stolen items. Then add a spy!

I started writing because I loved reading Georgette Heyer. Once I'd read all of her books, I decided to try my hand at it, and what started out as a hobby has turned into a passion. I love writing Regency romances.

If I could travel to any fictional book world, it would be Regency London. I love the period's history involving the war with Napoleon and other eccentric characters like the Prince Regent. I love to work a story around events of that time.

Currently, I am writing a story about a merchant's daughter who is compromised at a house party, through no fault of her own. She argues with realizes the rake who compromised her, trying to break the engagement. The rake soon realizes that he has fallen for her and will not release her from the engagement.

Write! It doesn't matter if it is good or bad. You can always edit. But if you are staring at a blank page, there is nothing for your to edit. So write.

I love being able to create characters. Then when I start writing, I may plot my story one way but find that my characters drive the action--not me. What fun!

Writer's block becomes a problem for everyone at one point. I try to get my mind in a good place, then just push myself to write. One author I heard speak said you can't work with a blank page. So my goal is to write something. I can always go back and edit.
