The best thing about being a writer, for me, is getting to bring my characters to life so that my readers feel like they're a part of their lives. It's not about how many books I might sell, it's about touching my readers in some way, even if it's something as simple as it brought a smile to their face.

My advice for aspiring writers is to just do it. If you have a story that wants to be told, write it. Don't get caught up in word count on the belief that it has to be super long in order for readers to enjoy it. As long as it's well written, it keeps the reader's interest, and the characters are brought to life in the minds of your readers, the length doesn't matter. That is advice I was given by two fellow Indie Authors, Derek Adam, author of Mass Casualty and Due Soldati, and Maria Luis, author of Power Play and SIn Bin, the first two books in her Blades Hockey Series, and Say You'll Be Mine and Take A Chance On Me, the first two books in her NOLA Hearts series. It's sound advice that I am taking to heart.

At the moment, I am currently working on books three and four in my NOLA Shifters Series. I have a couple contemporary romances that I've worked on a little, but my main focus is the Shifters Series, of which there are at least nine books planned. Whether or not more are added to it will depend on the supporting characters and whether or not their personalities develop enough that they demand their own book!

This is a fun question to answer, for me. Some of my inspiration comes from songs. Sometimes it's lyrics, other times it's titles of a song. I have several contemporary romances that are sitting on the back burner that got their start thanks to a song. I'll let the readers see if they can figure out the artist and song for themselves.

Well, my most recent book is Wild Lilies: Book One of The NOLA Shifters Series. It was actually written before the prequel. Part of my inspiration for it comes from a long time love affair with all things paranormal. I was introduced to Paranormal books by Anne McCaffrey, way back in 1989. I read her book, Dragonsdawn, which is part of her Dragon Riders of Pern series, and fell in love with fantasy and paranormal. My inspiration for shifters, however, comes from reading authors such as Laurell K. Hamilton and Christine Feehan. There is just something so alluring about them. I love the city of New Orleans and wanted to set the series there, which led to me wanting to have some Cajun characters. My grandfather, on my father's side, was Cajun so I already had a love of the dialect. All of those things jsut came together to create this series.
