I would say that the best thing about writing is the ability to express your inner world on a page.
To find and use the ability of introspection, compassion and empathy (which i find very important for building genuine characters).
As a writer, you share your emotions, cognitions and interpretations to what you or your loved ones experience as you expose the material to people who loves reading and are into the subjects you speak about... and hope for them to enjoy, relate and be inspired.
