Keep writing everyday if you can. Write even when it hurts. Learn to take criticism but don't let it consume you. Incorporate your personal experiences in your stories. Most importantly write about what moves you.

In becoming a writer you see the world through a different lens. My senses and emotions are heighted. I observe the world around me with an open heart and mind. Drawing from the human condition creates endless possibilities.

Typically, I will ask a series of questions. What would happen if the character did this? I place my characters in different environments and see how they will respond. If that doesn't work I listen to music lyrics and some of my favorite movie quotes. It helps with dialogue.
