People always say they're afraid of the bump in the night. It's the silence after the bump you should really consider.

Nine times out of ten I read a book outside of my normal genre. Not drastically so, I don't usually move from fantasy to biography, but something like fantasy, to modern thrillers is always a nice change of pace.
Even if all you are doing is crawling your way through the obligatory 30/60 pages, whatever your preference is.
That will normally get me out of the funk. If it doesn't I play massive amounts of video games, or hang out with friends. Taking a break is just as important as actually doing, you don't want to burn yourself out.

I love the fact that I can get just as caught up in writing as reading. I can't count the number of times I've said "I'm going to sit here, and just knock out an hours worth of words" then look up and it's been four or five hours.
It's fascinating to me.

Considering I'm still an aspiring writer my best piece of advice would be to message me if you are interested in a collab, or need someone to edit on the free/cheap end :D

I am currently working on a few things, the second book of HTL is in the planning phase. The fantasy/scifi book is in the 'being written/decided' phase.
But between school restarting, for both my kids and me, time has started to be at a premium again.

Alcohol.
Not really. I have been a heavy reader since middle-school and consume somewhere between 2-3 full length books a week. After you get through all that finding a story that fits what you want to read exactly is is kind of hard to do, so I decided I would try and write it. Turns out writing is as cathartic, if not a little bit more, for me as reading.
I will admit to a drink or two while I'm writing, but never while editing :)

I have a teacher with CP and he is an amazing man who cares deeply for the people he works with, and the students he teaches. Plus I have a friend I served with who was horrifically wounded, but still pushes on to the best of his ability, and usually past that. Seeing these two men not only persevere, but prosper, made me want to base a character off of someone like that.
