Sarah Roux When I'm faced with that blank space on the screen I've found the best way is to write my way through it, however painful. The longer you procrastinate, the worse it becomes! Even just typing the most basic words can clear the blockage so that the prose begins to flow easier.
Sarah Roux The inspiration for A Painted Samovar came whilst I was researching the family tree. I'd always known that my grandfather hadn't fought in the First World War but instead had returned to Russia. He never spoke of his experiences in the Russian Revolution but I thought that a story like his should be told - imagined or otherwise!
Sarah Roux I'm currently in the editing stages of my second novel, Harriet. It's a fictionalised tale of Harriet Westbrook, wife of the poet Shelley.
