You know that feeling you got as a kid when you finished the last book of a series? Not just any series, but THE series, the one that meant the most to you and you daydreamed about in school and the one that continues to shape who you are today. That feeling, that mixture of love for that incredible ending and the sense of emptiness because it's over. I think that's the ultimate feeling you can get from books. I write because I hope someday my own books can give that feeling to someone else. I believe that if I can give just one person that feeling, I'll have accomplished my job as a writer.

The trick is to plan what you're going to write beforehand. If you have a series of plot points to guide you, you're less likely to run out of ideas and you'll know where to go next if you do.

Don't doubt yourself. Don't stop typing or put down your pen because you think what you're writing is bad or you know you just made a huge typo. Write now and edit later. This prevents writer's block and gives you more material to work with when the time to edit does come around.
