Letitia Mason When I was growing up in Kent, we heard stories about th Second World War, always told as a bit of a joke, grandpa having a bomb dropped on him in the outside toilet, Mum doing her A levels under the desk.
As I have grown up and read more about the Blitz I have realised how truly scary being in the path of Hitler's bombers would have been. My friends have memories of similar stories. There must have been deep trauma and psychological damage but our parents and grandparents laughed and carried on. I would like to write a book on why they did this, and how this group approach to recovering from the war evolved.

Letitia Mason It was inspired by stories of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade on display in the M-Shed in Bristol, and by short-term missions to South Sudan with Flame International. Lost Children of Cush is dedicated to the many brave women in South Sudan who have loved their families through conflict, separation, and famine.
