The Van Birch Incident came from a lot of places. It was an amalgamation of playing with popular romance tropes (fake engagement, taboo step-brother love) and current events. Plus, I wrote it, so it has to take place in Kansas at least a little bit.

I tend to work on more than one project at once. In the morning I write new words. In the afternoon, I revise old ones.
My morning project is The Van Birch Incident, about a starlet who's sexual assault charges against her manager plays out on a national stage.
My afternoon project is Ethan & Juliet, as second chance romance about a midwife and OB/GYN set to release in October 2018.
