Dana Vacca Hi, Yes, firstly, thank you for purchasing the book! I hope you enjoy it!

Secondly, yes, I do have relatives in Canada!!! My great-grandfather's sister, her husband and family. From Italy I believe they went to Argentina, then later emmigrated to Canada. That is when I met them! My great-grandfather was alive then and invited them to stay with us (in RI) on their way to Canada. They only spoke Italian. My grandparents and great-grandfather were able to speak with them easily, but I only caught a word here and there. I do remember them,.. there were about six of them, if I remember correctly,... I was only about eight or ten years old. I never saw them again, but they wrote to my great-grandfather regularly.

My great-grandfather's name was Domenic-angelo Vacca; his wife was Susie (Asunta) but she died in 1958. My great-grandfather lived to be 101 yrs old! He died in 1991. My grandfather's name was Arthur (Arturo Vacca); he was an attorney in North Providence, RI.

My great-grandfather always talked about Campbasso, Italy,... that is where he said he was from.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Dana Vacca Great, Edward! I hope you enjoy it! I tried to write a book that was historically correct but but went further into the minds of the people of the era - to understand their hopes and dreams and why they behaved as they did. It's a complex period to understand but still has an effect on culture in present-day America.

Thank you for messaging!
