When I was a member of the US Air Force Reserve, I was in charge of my squadron's Awards and Decoration Program. It was during this time, while documenting the accomplishments of our men and women in uniform, that I developed a love of writing.

After my Parkinson's diagnosis, I formed the Davis County Parkinson's Support Group in Utah. While at one of our meetings, I was thinking about a storyline for my book, and thought: what if a man came in here and offered me a chance to use a time machine to go into the future and bring back the cure...that idea sparked my imagination, and soon after, The Device was born.
