Dorothy Marcic Read as much as you can. Read read read. Then also read book about how to write better. Take writing classes. Then practice, practice, practice. It's like tennis, you need a lot of time practicing. And keep at it!
Dorothy Marcic I love to write and often have so many ideas that I can just sit down and pound away on my computer keyboard. If I need an inspiration, sometimes, I think of an object or a song and try to write a story about that and then a while idea comes to me.
Dorothy Marcic My beloved Uncle, LaVerne Stordock was murdered years ago in Oregon, WI, just outside Madison. His second wife (Her fourth husband) confessed IF she could get an insanity plea. Which she did and spent 11 months in a mental hospital and then was "completely cured" of chronic paranoid schizophrenia. When she got out, she got all my uncle's assets, including his life insurance--plus double indemnity. My family always thought there was some injustice, so in 2014, I set out to find the truth, going through court transcripts, forensic files, probate documents and then interviewed over 60 people related to the case, including the confessed murderer. The result is WITH ONE SHOT: Family Murder and a Search for Justice.
