If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
H.M. Gooden Oh tough one! But likely Harry Potters. Close enough to mine not to have culture shock, but the safest I can think of offhand. Not to mention it has fantastic beasts!

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
H.M. Gooden All the books! Nah, I don't make lists, just let the sun and season take me where I go

How do you deal with writer’s block?
H.M. Gooden I don’t find writers block much of an issue so far. I write because I love it and find it relaxing.

H.M. Gooden The best thing about being a writer is creating your own magic.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
H.M. Gooden Just keep writing. A little bit everyday can add up to something wonderful if you just keep going

What are you currently working on?
H.M. Gooden Currently working on he final touches for book three in the rise of the light trilogy and the second draft of book 4!

How do you get inspired to write?
H.M. Gooden I find inspiration in every day life. Sometimes through sadness, other times when things tickle my funny bone. I’ve always loved figuring out what makes people tick and exploring new cultures. In particular, foods from different cultures have always made me happy!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
H.M. Gooden My initial book idea came from a dream that I’ve had since my teens. For some reason, I kept seeing the hospital in my town as overgrown and dark, full of ominous magic. That grew into Cat and her experiences in the hospital, and everything else grew around that.
