You have total control over what you create. You don't have to live up to anybody's standards besides your own and that is extremely freeing.

Keep writing. If you have a passion for it, keep writing. This is a career that is filled with doubt, negativity and rejection, but you cannot let those things stop you from going after what you want. If that first book doesn't turn out so well, write the next one. If you find yourself doubting the project your working on, put it in a drawer and start the next one. If you get rejected by 30 publishers, keep writing. No matter what, if you love to write, keep writing!
