My book is all about my life, the good, bad, hard, and funny. It was easy to share my personal stories with people because they're real. I'm good at embarrassing myself and I love making people laugh so sharing those "uh-oh" moments was fun. I decided to gather everything I'd written and finally put it together in a book. I had so many untold stories that I hadn't published yet and I combined them with some favorites from my blog and wove a story.

I lived in Holland when I was 8. I didn't have any friends nearby and the kinds who were close didn't speak much English. My mom started filling my world with books and the love of reading and writing took hold. Writers were magicians to me, able to make new worlds for me to escape into. I wanted to do the same.

Oh I have about 12 different books "started" on my computer. I'm still writing blog posts at http://www.tipsytiaras.com. I'd love to try my hand at YA, so that is probably my next goal.

Please keep writing. Even if no one but you sees it. When you're ready, share your gift with everyone you can. We need stories, experiences, different viewpoints, and joy.

When something I've written touches someone and they take the time to let me know. Being able to help people feel understood, connected, and less alone is everything for me.

I don't usually begin writing something new until I have that gut feeling that I'm "ready." Once I have spent some time with an idea it usually just spills out of me. Almost fully formed. If I don't have that gut feeling, I don't write.
