Tamura Lomax I got inspired to write the more I read. I enveloped myself in research and writings about race, gender, sexuality, etc. The more I read, the more inspired I got.
Tamura Lomax It came over time...through experiences. It's about Jezebel the stereotype and the biblical figure and how they merge onto black women's bodies. I think my first thoughts on this project came about when I realized I was racialized and gendered, or really, that I was a black woman. We don't come into this world knowing that. There's typically an encounter with racism or sexism first.
