I'm obviously a fan of the genre, and I hope The Walking Dead runs for 20 years. There are still a lot of unexplored ideas about survival in a post zombie apocalyptic world, and I want to find those ideas. I think I got my idea just by thinking about where I would want to be if it really happened.

I got a lot of encouragement from my daughter to do it. My wife has always wanted me to write, but my daughter challenged me to write. Now it has become a perpetual motion machine. I don't want to stop, and I can't imagine not wanting to write.

Just do it and have fun! I can't tell you how much fun it is. I thought I would feel bad if there was negative criticism. Instead, I listened with interest when I got told I was doing something wrong. It makes me feel good about myself, so if you want to write, don't put it off.

I used to skydive, and I was a nervous wreck every time I did it until I was in the air. Since I finished my first book, every day has been like that. Writing makes real life exciting.

We've all experienced that feeling of trying to remember a name, but all we can think of is the first letter. That's called the "tip of the tongue phenomenon". Writer's block feels the same way. You feel like you know what you want to say, but you don't know where to start. Well, how do we remember that name? We start guessing. I've found when I get writer's block, it fixes itself when I just start writing. So what if it isn't the best thing you've written. It gets me by the blocks when they happen.
