Cold Crash started out of my interest in heritage and creative writing, as well as a research project I did at the University of Hertfordshire around women who flew in the Air Transport Auxiliary. Max grew out of this work.

I love doing the research for the Max Falkland novels. Going to the British Library and checking issues of What's On in London from 1952 to get cinema listings right is a joy. I'm doing final edits to the sequel to Cold Crash. It's called The Running Lie, and it picks up with Max about three and a half weeks after the end of Cold Crash. Alongside that, I'm writing the third novel in the series. Title to be confirmed!
