Riley Morrison Now that I have written close to 600,000 words, I don't get this, though I sometimes feel burned out and can't write. But early on I had more trouble with this. Mostly, I'd just take a break and do something else for awhile and then try to come back to it. Or I'd write about something else, and then come back to my story.

Later I just powered through it. I wrote a terrible page or two, and then later fixed it in editing or completely threw it away.

Give these tactics a try and see how they go!
Riley Morrison Sitting around and making stuff up!
Riley Morrison Pace your writing if you find it hard to find the time or difficult to do. Start with short attempts to write (say 15 minutes) and try to stay 100% focused for that length of time. Then slowly grow it, or do the 15 minutes multiple times a day. Try to keep a spreadsheet of what you accomplish. You will be impressed with what you can accomplish in a short period of time!
Riley Morrison Book 2 of the Caverns of Stelemia series, titled, Dawn of a Lost Sun.
Riley Morrison I have always liked caves and exploring, and really liked the idea of books like City of Ember, of games like Arx Fatalus and have always loved epic fantasy. So I decided to write a story about an underground kingdom. There is so much potential for stories down there!
