Don Beukes A quote, a work of art, global atrocities, climate change, a movie scene or character but most of all my own history, fears hopes and dreams...
Don Beukes Apart from catching up on writing reviews, I am yet to finish my first chapbook inspired by my surroundings in Spain...also to hopefully get it translated into Spanish!
Don Beukes Take charge of your own words, use whatever means to share your words with the global village, let rejection inspire you to spill even more ink, learn new writing skills, connect with authors who you find a synergy with but most of all leave your lexical trail globally wherever you can...you are who you were meant to be...liberate yourself through your words...
Don Beukes Having the power to weave words for the global village and being the master of my own destiny. I guess too, to know that my words will find an eager eye, mind or kindred soul who recognizes themselves within my words...
Don Beukes Well I first have to admit I'm having a bloc, hover with my pen above the page and have to calm down and wait for that eureka moment...a thought, an impulse, an image, a film, an emotion, a quote...which will make me grab my pen and jot down what comes to mind!
Don Beukes From an artwork by a young South African artist Luke Borrill. I just HAD to write a poetic response to it, which became the title poem, along with close collaboration with other artists from SA, UK, America. I am inspired by #artmeetspoetry
