This is a hard one... let's say I'd visit - and just for research purpose - London at Victorian/Georgian/Edoardian age (I'm not picky) and India, at the tame of the great Moghul's rajas. That would be awesome (unless I'd be a lowrank servant or die of starvation/violent death ^^), I'd absorb the atmosphere, admire the setting, try to learn as much as possible and just enjoy it (no need to change history or whatever).

Everything I'll still have on my bedside counter at the moment ^^

My cat is staring at me.
Wait a minute: he's staring behind me, and we were the only two in the room, or so I thought.

I finally had one (and writing about it). Let's just say I recently have been visiting a friend at the hospital and his room companion was a sketchy (yet exhilarating) character...

You get to write exactly the story you'd want to read, and you get to read it first! You get to meet and great some fantastic characters, and sometimes you get to take you revenge on those nasty bad ones...
But mostl: you get to meet some of the most amazing readers in the world!

Never give up. Really, never: you feel it, you write it down, you give it to your public. If editor's don't write back you just publish it by yourself! Out there, somewhere, there is someone who will gladly read it and really enjoy it... so screw the sistem and just get out there!
One day you will se all that hard work will be repaid... even if it will be one book a day on Amazon KDP :D

That's a mix of dream + reality. I've always wanted to write and I particularly enjoy romantic suspence books (I so LOVE the classics: seals, firefighters, lawyers, policemen, detectives... I am a goner for those), so I cooked one for myself. Inspiration came by from some bad days I was living... and the location is completely taken from my childhood memories! (April's House - from book 1 of Gotta love the Seal's serie - is actually based upon one my cousin's house, where I spent almost all of my summer holidays)...

Most of my books start with, literally, a dream. I dream things, I dream often, and I dream in technicolor... then I wake up, sit down, and try to adapt those brilliant ideas and use them for my books...

Too many books and too little time!! I am writing in parallel 2 books (Book 2 of the Gotta Love the seal serie and book 3 of the Back home serie), and I got down a first draft of 2 new books that came to me, literally, over night!

It happens, sometimes... I try to ignore it, find something else to do while relaxing a bit, try to write at the time I feel the inspiration coming to me... (on these days it happens at evening/night, alas!).
If it's not working I just take a HOLY-day and try the next day to sit down and start writing again.
