Hi Matt, and thanks for the question.
I just sent my fully edited version of book #4 off to the first of two final editors. I expect the book to come out in April, and I'm really excited with the story after getting it to this point. I can't wait to share it.
However, there will be a 5th book to finish off the series. That one probably won't be ready until the end of the year or so. I have the outline but haven't started writing it yet.
Thanks! And if there's anyway you could review or rate each book on Amazon and to a lesser extent on Goodreads when you get a moment, I'd REALLY appreciate it!
Thanks Matt!
Ryan

One came just came out - the Vanished City, and 'Sacrifice' will be out on Dec. 1.
I'm loving writing this series, and the stories just keep getting better - especially love Vanished City.

Hi Jonathan, thanks for the question.
For me it was the ancient Egyptian's ideas about the afterlife, the concepts they developed around death, and the entire world they created to fill this void; looking for answers to the human question. Who wouldn't be interested in scales of judgment, a heart devouring monster, birds with the heads of the deceased still flying around by day, the trials, Anubis and Osiris, and all that gold buried with the dead? It was definitely not just the mummies, I steered clear of that concept as I didn't want to create a cliche story. Books 2 and 3 (the final of the series, currently with the first editor) delve more into their underworld, the Duat.

Keep at it. It's been a long road just to get where I'm at, which isn't far, thus far.

Force myself to write more of the story. The first ten minutes is bad and has to be completely redone, but after that I'm back into the zone.
