Unfortunately, for many diseases we still don't know what triggers them.
In medical school, one of my professors said that "in human biology almost anything it's possible'"and this is something I've always remembered and helped me cope with sudden changes in my health.
I hope your surgery and recovery will be uneventful and praying helps with good luck, which I think is needed on top of science and skills.
Avoiding, as much as possible, the chemicals I talked about in the book will some relief, especially for your arthritis symptoms—as it did for me.
