I've just reduced my working hours, which is great. It's also an amazing community, full of people who want to see each other succeed.

If it's a struggle to get going I'll do a little light editing on what I've already written, that usually motivates me.

Sit down and write. Set yourself half an hour and just write anything. Whatever comes into your head. Don't delete anything, if you don't like it, file it away, you never know.

Writer's block is a blanket term for many issues which are resolved in different ways. I'll assume you mean when I can't work out what should happen next. Sometimes I'll leave it for a few days and wait for something to come to me. If that doesn't work, I'll see what the characters have got to say. I'll look at the plot from each character's perspective. Quite often a different view is all it takes.

My inspiration for the faders is a character in the Belgariad by David Eddings. His name is Relg and he can move through rock. My faders aren't really the same but he was definitely the inspiration I began with. The Belgariad is one of my favourite series. I go back and read them every couple of years and have done since the eighties. It's like visiting old friends.

I'm currently writing book two in my Faders series. It's called The Network. I'm hoping to have it released in November. I'm also working on a re-write of the first Faders short story Unseen. I've also started the second Faders short story, Unbroken. There will be three of them and together they are companion stories to the main trilogy.
