It is easier to be a critic than a creator. For some people criticism is validation but for you it's creating. And creating is much harder. You deserve recognition just for trying.
Learn as long as it inspires you, but trust your instincts. You're trying to create something unique and advice is only what someone did differently - it's not necessarily what made them successful.

I'm writing about A.I. at the moment. And about a rogue MI5 agent. And something set in a fantasy world. Not all in the same novel I might add. That would be weird.

I can't stop writing. I've written plays, comedy scripts, poems, TV drama scripts as well as some great emails and some terrible emails. Usually, I'm trying to make people laugh but I'm also trying to make sense of how I see the world, hoping people might not be too put off by that.

I'm a geek. I love science and technology as well as telling stories and have long been fascinated by the idea that artificial intelligence is going to overtake us very soon. What happens to us will depend entirely on what it "wants". At the same time, I'd read there were only seven story themes, because there are only seven things that we basically worry about: Survival, Money, Power, Glory, Self Awareness, Justice and Love. What if they became the things that the robots wanted...?
