All my books so far have been based on real issues affecting the pharmaceutical industry and science in general. The technical details are kept to a minimum to make the books accessible to people from all backgrounds. I have interwoven other issues such as blackmail, revenge, murder, relationships, reputations into these stories using the research environment as a backdrop.

Having written three books in the series I find that I want to continue with it, until I feel I have exhausted all my ideas. Once that happens I will need to think about alternative subjects.

Don't be afraid to take the plunge. I felt I had a story waiting to be told but for a long time I lacked the conviction to make a start. Starting is the hardest part. Don't be discouraged. It's an achievement just to make a start. Remember, you can't edit a blank page.

The best thing about being a writer is being able to escape into another world and be totally immersed in it. I feel I have another parallel existence populated by my characters.

I go for long walks and think about the story as a whole. Often by relaxing my mind and not focusing too much on the problem which has arisen a solution will present itself. I also discuss the plot with my husband.
