I really haven't suffered that. Once I start writing, it flows out. The issue for me is more that I have to stop sometimes when I have other commitments. Even making lunch can be an inconvenience in that respect.

Just write! Life gets in the way, whether it's career or family or things you enjoy doing, but you can find the time. Part of me wishes I'd written a book when I was much younger, but I believe I have now a better perspective on things that has come with age.

The sequel to The Silver Skeleton. I have another idea I'm also eager to follow up, but I like the characters in my first book, so want to take their story further. I've received a lot of positive feedback, and people have asked if there will be a sequel, so it makes sense.
Also, I'm editing an adding to a short book on the 100-year history of Moor Green FC, a club where I cut my teeth as a teenage sports reporter. It has been written by my first mentor, who is now 80, and I'm eager to complete that soon.

I'm not a morning person, but I'm awake at 5.45am every day to feed my dogs and make coffee for my wife before she goes to work. My mind starts racing with ideas some mornings (not others) and then I write. Simple as that.

I left Birmingham, where the novel is set, 17 years ago and in the story, the main character returns there to reconnect with old friends and memories, so while it is not autobiographical, I can relate to those emotions.
