For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed public speaking and writing. I often received positive feedback on speeched, presentations, even memos. I think the main motivation for writing my book was from my direct reports, who when I shared with them that one day I would write it, encouraged me to do so.

When I was working and coaching new and inexperienced supervisors and was looking for a resource book to give them. I occasionally lamented the lack of a goof short book with everuthing the new supervisor would need to know as he/she started a new position. Well, once I retired I had more time, wanted to maintain and refine my own skills and so I wrote that book.
