Vickie Ray McEntire I got the idea for the story of Little Bird & Myrtle Turtle from observing broken families. I noticed that sometimes the children in these families received the most encouragement and care from unexpected people. I love birds and included the turtle in honor of one of my sisters, whose nickname is Myrtle Turtle.
Vickie Ray McEntire Inspiration comes from everywhere. I've learned to be looking for it and open to receiving it. Just this week I was sweeping and an essay idea came to me. Of course, I put the broom against the wall and went straight to my computer. Real life situations are great inspiration for telling stories.
