What made you write Please See Us? I am reading it and it’s so good. To me it’s very heartbreaking and I don’t mean just because of the murders. I mean because of what is going on in each woman’s life that brings her to that point in time. People are way to quick to judge. To me, this book proves that.

Caitlin Mullen Hi Linda! Thanks so much for your kind words about the book. The novel was inspired by true events: in 2006 the bodies of four women were found in a marsh just outside of Atlantic City. While none of my characters are based on the real-life victims and are all inventions from my imagination, I always found the crime so heartbreaking. It was really important to me to write about my characters in a way that was as humane as possible and showed how, for women without a safety net, it only takes a few, sometimes seemingly small, decisions to drastically alter your fate.
